Be a Host
I know that some people may disagree, but I can think of few things ruder than having a group of people over, and then starting a video game. I really only think video games at gatherings are acceptable if it's something like Super Smash Bros., where a majority of the group is engaged, and controllers are passed between people every ten minutes or so. But two people starting an intense, serial, two-player game, turned up to full volume, while "entertaining" five other people in the room? HOW RUDE! I've done that video game spectator thing too many times, and it's really all a sham. No one likes watching other people play video games. WHEN WILL THEY ALL REALIZE?

Yikes! Was there a traumatic video game-related incident in your past that makes you hate them so?
To be honest, I really really love watching some video games. It's like watching a movie and being able to yell at the actors.

Derrick, yes. I lived in a house with a boyfriend, and 2 other boys, and all they ever did was get stoned and play Halo, and they were all. really. really. bad. at Halo. It was awful. And all I could do was sit on the couch and pretend it was entertaining and wait for them to get tired of it.
Well, that sounds hella lame, the sitting-and-watching-Halo-with-stoners thing, that is. I knew that such a fiery hatred was one that was cultivated by experience.
